Tusayan, Arizona

Only two miles outside the South Gate of the Grand Canyon, Tusayan exists solely to serve that master. If you’re driving from Williams of Flagstaff, you’re driving through Tusayan. Routes 64 from Williams and 120 from Flagstaff lead directly to the main drag where you’ll find plentiful lodging and not much more. There are a few shops and a few places to eat. A post office and a laundromat serve the community at large, but don’t be fooled into thinking this is a destination spot all on its own. Tusayan’s residents are made up of local business owners and employees serving the park and they don’t number more than 600. The town was designed and built to serve the Grand Canyon National Park’s tourist overflow and that’s exactly what it does.
