Maswik Lodge

Just a 1/4 mile from the rim, Maswik offers several levels of comfort for lodging at the Grand Canyon. Rustic cabins are available during the summer months, but note the word rustic. Mid-level rooms are found in Maswik South. Akin to a motel, rooms are basic doubles with television, telephone, etc. Maswik North offers bigger double rooms or king size singles. Mini-fridge, air-conditioning and a safe are part of the extras you pay for in this section of the lodge. Prices range depending on room type but are a little less expensive than staying directly on the rim and still have the proximity of being within walking distance to the South Rim’s stunning views.

What's Good and What Could be Improved.
Staying in Maswik North seems to be the way to go as it’s renovated and has air conditioning. But even the cabins are reported to be well maintained. Lack of sufficient parking seems to be a recurring theme at the South Rim in general. Although some have been bamboozled by the prices, don’t expect four-star quality for these on-site accommodations. Remember the first rule of real estate: location, location, location.

Who is it Good for?
Maswik is perfect for those traveling in larger groups. Double rooms are the norm with your basic motel style double in one section and slightly larger, more modern doubles in another. Rustic cabins are available for those who prefer not to share walls with others.

Amenities: North section rooms are larger and offer air conditioning, telephone, television, safe, and a coffee maker. South section and cabins have fewer amenities, no air conditions, coffee or safes available, so book wisely and according to your needs.
